Update & Current Favourites

Wow. I sincerely cannot believe that an entire month has gone by since our last post. (I'm cringing, honestly!)

While there's never any excuse, since going back to school, moving, and starting a new job, my day-to-day priorities shifted, and unfortunately, the blog took a hit.

While I can't promise the same schedule of posts (there was usually a new one every other day), I'm still committed to the blog! Most of all I have missed chatting with you, our amazing readers – many thanks to everyone who tweeted us wishing us the best. Still, I hope to post at least twice a week, on the same range of topics (makeup, skincare, lifestyle), while also sharing more on what I'm learning about. Let us know what you'd like to see more of, too!

Now, on to the favourites!

I'm still loving all of my skincare favourites that I shared back in September, but the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser has quickly made its way into my everyday routine. This cleanser is super gentle with a light foaming action that effectively removes makeup but doesn't sting my eyes – I have a feeling that I'm quickly going to become obsessed with Kiehl's.

Katherine and I had a great time at the Toronto IMATS, which inevitably resulted in an exciting beauty haul. The Esqido Unforgettable lashes are pretty perfect – they could pass for my natural lashes, while definitely looking full and elegant.

Finally, these 3 makeup items have been really impressing my lately: the Chanel Vitalumière Aqua foundationClinique Chubby Lash Fattening mascara in Black Honey, and the NUDESTICK Lip and Cheek Dual Pencil in Whisper and Mystic.

The Chanel foundation is a water-based foundation that feels like nothing on the skin. I wear 10 Beige – it has a very strong yellow undertone that I find really useful in counteracting some of the natural redness in my skin.

The Clinique Black Honey mascara is another fast favourite. It gives both volume and length without clumps or flaking during the day. Aside for the formula, though, I adore the colour. It's a softer alternative to black that still defines and makes my eyes look more green.

Another non-beauty favourite is the Batalash Beauty channel on Youtube. I think Samantha's makeup tutorials are always so creative and fantastic, plus she gives honest reviews of products. I picked up the NUDESTIX dual pencil after she raved about the nude pink shade Whisper – and ever since I've barely put it down (and nearly panicked when I thought I'd lost it!). Both colours are really creamy but also long-lasting, with some serious pigment. I've yet to try it as a cheek colour though...
