Lately I have been having some very long days – we're talking 14+ hours when my makeup needs to look good and I don't have time to touch up. These three products have been absolute saviours when I layer them together, and as long as I don't rub or touch my face then my base makeup stays!
First I pat a small amount of the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer into my T-zone. I have normal skin but notice on busy days that I can get a bit of shine there. This stuff is pricey but in my opinion really worth it because I save it for days when I want to need my makeup to be extra long-lasting and flawless.
I'll admit I was skeptical when I bought the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. This really gives an extra edge to the lasting power of any foundation. I love that it's free of silicone, alcohol, and oil.
If you haven't tried the L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, you need to. It gives a very comfortable and soft matte finish. This foundation is also great to mix with to give other foundations that extra lasting power, like I showed in my recent "classic red lips" makeup look. My only complaint is that it's really hard to choose a shade since the packaging isn't true to the shade. Anyway, I wear 102 Shell Beige.
I follow these products up with a light dusting of translucent powder all over my face before spritzing with a setting spray. I like the Japonesque Color Velvet Touch Finishing Powder, but haven't found a favourite setting spray yet (any recommendations welcome!).
What do you do to keep your makeup lasting all day?
