Life Update & Autumn Beauty Wishlist

Whether you're going back to school or simply looking forward to enjoying pumpkin-flavoured beverages, the change of season means it's time to refresh our wardrobe and our makeup routines.

Some big changes are happening in my life at the moment that I wanted to share with you. As I've mentioned before, Katherine and I moved into a new apartment in Toronto. And, today I'm entering into a Medical Aesthetics program! So I can write this off as a "back to school" beauty wishlist, right?

YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in Rose Romantique – For hygienic purposes, at the school and in the clinic I won't be able to wear nail polish or have long nails. I'll definitely miss wearing coloured nail polish. For everyday I'm looking for a polish that gives the nail a finished look and some shine. This one by YSL was extolled by Into the Gloss as one of the best barely there nail polishes and I already like the YSL polishes. This sheer pinky nude polish is appropriate for any work or school environment!

Maison Martin Margiela 'Replica' Jazz Club – After just one sample vial of this perfume I am hooked. I completely finished it and desperately drained the last few drops. I mentioned it on our Twitter (@erinandkat) It's a unisex fragrance with notes of musk, vanilla bean, leather, and tobacco. If you're a fan of sexy, smoky yet sweet scents then you absolutely need to check this out!

Louise Young Super Foundation Brush LY34
 – It takes a lot for me to want to order something online without seeing it in person first. Beauty blogger Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup has the power to do that. She uses the LY34 brush in almost every one of her makeup tutorial videos, so I've already seen how effortlessly this large synthetic brush blends in makeup. I'm currently using Real Techniques brushes but this seems like a step ahead.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Powder – I've heard phenomenal things about this powder – two of my favourite beauty Youtubers, Wayne Goss and KathleenLights, raved about it. Since I have dry skin, I'm always hesitant to try new powders in case they don't sit nicely. While I love my translucent Japonesque powder, I like that the Charlotte Tilbury one will give some coverage and is apparently ultra-smooth. I'll definitely be checking this one out, and adding it to my growing collection of Charlotte Tilbury makeup.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip – One of my best friends, Laura, made a ColourPop order and seeing these liquid lipsticks on her has made me want to try them out, too! The colours on my shopping list includes everything from unusual (greige-y Trap) to nude (Midi) to bright (Donut) to burnt red (Bumble)... and more. I'm having a bit of a moment with liquid lipsticks (re: Kat Von D), and autumn is the perfect time to bust out dramatic colours that feel like too much during the summer.

Do you change up your makeup in autumn?
