Forgotten Favourites

I could have also titled this post something along the lines of "Shaking Up Your Summer Makeup". Read on to hear about these favourites that I'll be reaching for again as the seasons change.

The Wet n Wild Colour Icon blusher in Heather Silk is a great matte blush, but I've been raching for a cream blush over powder blushes lately. This stuff is super pigmented so forget  the mini brush it comes with and use a loose powder brush. There is some fallout so knock off your brush first. Heather Silk gives a rosy look that I think would suit most people.

A coral eyeshadow is definitely unique but after seeing so many "sunset" eye looks I picked this up. The Urban Decay eyeshadow in Free Love is a golden vibrant peach shimmer. The shimmer keeps the colour from looking flat and isn't glittery. I need to continue experimenting with this eyeshadow, and I've also realized that this work as blush, too!

An amazing budget buy is the Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture palette in Eye on Neutral Matte 02. I've used this on friends with lighter and darker skin tones, which goes to show how varied the colours are! My Lorac Pro and Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes are definitely more pigmented, but I simply layer these shadows to make it work. I definitely need to use this palette more — those matte peach and tan shades would blend perfectly with Freelove.

The Korres lip butter in Mango is a shea butter based lip balm that leaves a shiny look to the lips. It's an easy way to wear an orange lip and I know that I'll reach for it more during summer.
