A Pop of Pink

During the winter months my makeup menu featured a lot of reds. I love a nice black winged liner and a strong red lip. For the spring I'm swapping in my reds for pinks; whether it's on the lips or the cheeks it adds a nice rosy glow.

For lip products I've been loving the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the colour 025 Sweetheart Valentine. This is a really hot pink colour that, as the name suggests, stains the lips. It's great if you are planning to go out for a meal. I love wearing this shade because it is such a nice contrast with my pale skin.

An oldie but a goodie for me is the Clinique Chubby Stick in 13 Mighty Mimonsa. This colour is sheer but buildable and is super moisturizing. I love keeping it in my purse and use it much like a tinted lip balm. It's great because you don't need a mirror to apply it, perfect for on the go application.

A newer addition to my collection is the Sonia Kashuk lipstick in 98 Very Berry. This lipstick does smell like vanilla something I think it's very love hate. Personally I like it but can't use it everyday because the smell is so sweet. The scent however doesn't last on your lips and disappears in around 30 seconds. This is a deep pink, almost plum, shade that's perfect for the evening.

One the cheeks I have also been reaching for some more rosy shades. I have been using the NYX powder blusher in Ethereal. This blusher is really cute, it's very baby doll pink. I love using it without bronzer for a very feminine look. It also has shimmer in it so I would skip on applying highlighter with it.

A great two in one product is the Josie Maran Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape. This product is meant to be applied on both the cheeks and lips. I apply it to the cheeks using a stippling brush and it has very buildable coverage. If you are planning to use it on the lips as well, you need to apply a lip balm first as it can be drying.

The warmer weather has finally arrived and with it all my pink makeup is now on display.

What have you been loving in the month of May?
