Tom Ford Indian Rose Lipstick

Here's my first Tom Ford lipstick, in the shade Indian Rose! I'm not shy to admit that I love high-end makeup, and had wanted to try Tom Ford's makeup line for awhile. To rationalize an egregiously expensive Tom Ford lipstick, I wanted a versatile shade... read on to learn why I failed to do that.

Medium-toned rose is probably my favourite shade of lipstick to wear (I love the Revlon lip butter in Pink Truffle).  Indian Rose is slightly darker than my bare lips and is definitely in the rose family. It would be a great nude on those of you with a deeper complexion.

However, I don't find myself reaching for Indian Rose very often because of its brown undertones. I'm hoping that I'll wear it more this summer when I have a tan.

All that aside, the quality of the lipstick is phenomenal. The formula is slightly heavy, hydrating, and soft. One coat is enough for an opaque finish, and I think most people will like the light vanilla scent. It's also much more long-lasting than my YSL lipstick.

If you are thinking of buying a high-end lipstick, you should definitely ask the makeup artist to try the lipstick on you first. I didn't do this; I was so excited to own a Tom Ford lipstick that I relied on swatches. Lesson learned. I'm going to keep playing around with it and hopefully I'll fall in love with the colour as much as the formula. I already have my eye on Wild Ginger...

Have you tried any Tom Ford makeup?
