Katherine's March Empties

In the month of March I tried to focus on not adding more products to my makeup routine but trying to finish up what I already had. Joe Fresh is a great Canadian brand and I seriously love their clothes so I was super excited when they came out with a line of skincare products. I've now finished the Joe Fresh Oil-Free moisturizing day cream really liked it. I reminds me a lot of the Orgins GinZing moisturizer. They both have a great citrus scent and the Joe Fresh one is half the price, retailing for $12. I liked using this moisturizer in the morning as it absorbs well into the skin and you can easily apply makeup over top. I enjoyed using this product and it got the job done, but it just didn't wow me so I haven't repurchased it yet. Still, I would definitely use it again, and for $12 it's a great deal.

The one skincare item I can never be without is Bioderma Sébium H2O micellar cleanser. This time I tried the green line Sebium which is intended for oily/acne prone skin. This product still have the magic of removing makeup that the original does but it also contains purifying ingredient like zinc gluconate and coper sulphate. In terms of my skin I have combination skin so I did not need these purifying ingredients on a daily basis. I was surprised that this formula was very gentle on the eye area but moving forward I will be sticking to the original sensitive formula.

I've heard alot of Youtubers rave about Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly so over the past few weeks I have been testing it. I was very surprised with the texture of this product. It is not like a traditional moisturizer - it's very thick, as the name suggests, like jelly. I applied this on my face and neck in the evening. I found that it was not great for the morning because it take a long time to absorb into the skin and as such I wasn't able to apply my makeup right away. This is a super hydrating moisturizer and worked well. However, I didn't really enjoy the texture and won't be repurchasing this product.

For me the Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Pumped Up! mascara was a total fail. I really didn't like this mascara... I didn't even finish the tube. I purchased this in the waterproof version for my trip to Cuba and tried to use it a couple of times but it just did nothing for my lashes. I tend to really like Maybelline mascaras (like The Falsies) but this one just didn't measure up. It doesn't add any volume or length. I would NOT recommend this product - instead try something like the L'Oreal Butterfly mascara that I am loving at the moment.

In terms of lip products I finished up two - the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in Peppermint and the Buxom Full-On lip polish mini in Sophia. The Maybelline lip balm is a petroleum based product and easily coast your lips and leaves them super smooth. I loved the Buxom gloss and will definitely be purchasing it in the full size. I'm not someone that loves lip glosses - I much prefer a nice lipstick - but the gloss may have pushed me over that edge. It has a nice peppermint scent that also plumps up the lips a bit. This colour doesn't have any glitter in it and just adds a nice shine to the lips. I would definitely recommend this product and I can't wait to try some other shades.

Have you tried any of these products?
