New In | Pixi, Benefit, L'Oréal & More

Target is closing in Canada... and I could shed a tear. That also means closing sales - 30% off makeup - which Katherine and I took full advantage of! I am looking for a cheaper replacement to my current brush tip liquid eyeliner by Urban Decay. Hopefully the L'Oréal Lineur Intense liner steps up to the plate!

Also at Target, I picked up two glow-givers by Pixi Beauty: the Flawless Beauty Primer and the Glow to Go. Check out the Glow to Go up close:

I love options when it comes to highlighter, and all four shades in the Glow to Go are good (read: not glittery, range of colours, blend well). I think this will be perfect for weekends away, and I like that the lid screws on so it won't open in my makeup bag.

I didn't limit myself to the good deals at Target - Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart and Loblaws also saw some business (all great places for drugstore makeup in Canada!). To say I'm in love with the liquid complexion products by Benefit wouldn't be far off, as you may remember from some of my last posts. The Radiant Orchid craze may have ended, but I was still drawn to the Benefit Lollitint. The creamy purple colour blends out beautifully and lasts on the cheeks.

I also bought the essence stays no matter what jumbo eye pencil in 02 Stunning Brown, which is very soft (almost gel-like) and smudges out to create an easy, sexy eye look. I actually prefer it over my Clinique chubby stick shadow tint in Fuller Fudge, which is drier and more difficult to blend.

Lastly, after testing the Flower Beauty crème blush in CB2 Peach Blossom and the Joe Fresh Universal CC cream I don't see either as must-haves. The Flower blush dries to a semi-powdery finish, so it can look patchy if not applied thinly and evenly. The Joe Fresh CC cream also doesn't hydrate like I hoped it would, and also fails to cover pores like silicone-based primers can. Womp womp.

Did any fellow Canadians also shop the Target closing sales?
