Review | Stila In the Light Palette

The one makeup item I just can't seem to resist are eyeshadow palettes. The Stila in the Light palette has 3 matte shades and 7 shimmery shades. This is definitely a going-out palette as the colours are great for getting ready for a night in the city.

Bare - matte ivory shade, Kitten- shimmer, Bliss - matte beige pink
This palette has great packaging - it's not too fancy or clunky, just nice, slim and easy to store.  The packaging is similar to the Lorac Pro Palette.  I like pulling this palette out when I'm going for drinks with friends and experimenting with the shimmery shades. I like using Night Sky with an angled brush along the lash line in place of black eyeliner. For the an inner corner highlight, Kitten is lovely.
Sunset - shimmery canyon pink, Sandstone - matte light coco,
Bubbly - pale gold shimmer, Gilded Gold - golden brown with shimmer
This palette also has a couple of matte shade which I like to use for an everyday natural look. However I do have to critique the shade Bare. This colour is so light that it doesn't show up on my lids at all. And as a pale redhead that is saying something. I would also say that Ebony, the black shade of the palette is not as pigmented as I would like. The shimmer shades in this palette are much more pigmented then the matte shades. I also find that shimmer shades are more buttery and glide along the lid beautifully.

Luster - dark aubergine with gold shimmer, Night Sky - blue with shimmer
Ebony - black

Overall this is a really fun palette but there are some pros and cons. I love the shimmery shades - the formula is lovely. The matte shades, however, are lacking in pigmentation. For someone just getting into makeup I think this would make a great gift idea. All of the shades are very wearable and they blend really well. My score for this palette would be an 8/10.

What have you tried from Stila? What makeup item can you never resist?
