NYE Makeup Must Haves

If you can't wear glitter on NYE, when can you? So I challenge you to wear glitter on NYE - even if you are watching the ball drop from the comfort of your home.

The purest "glitter" that I own is the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Kitten - you can barely tell from the swatch below but it is a light champagne with silver sparkle that catches the light. It's a super smooth eyeshadow that looks even better when applied wet. I'll use this on the eyelids only, but I have pressed it into the cheekbones before for a real wow effect. Layer over a powder highlighter (theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, anyone?) for extra effect.

I rely on some of my favourite base products, applied in the following order - MAC Strobe CreamDior Nude Skin Foundation, and the Hourglass Ambient Powder in Dim Light. For eyes, I'll curl with the ultimate  eyelash curlers by shu uemura and then apply several coats of YSL Shocking Mascara.

Another standout is the NYX Dewy Finish Spray, which sets makeup in place. Don't spray too much though, since it can leave a sticky feel and I would never use it to "refresh makeup" like I do with MAC Fix+. Otherwise, it's a great drugstore setting spray.

I'm currently loving the combination of the Buxom True Nude Lip Foundation in Nude and the Gosh Lipstick in Nougat for the lips. The combo adds up to a warm-toned nude lip that doesn't wash you out.

This NYE makeup is fool-proof because it relies on my favourites with a few special standouts thrown in. Wear the glitter, people. Come tomorrow you'll be setting resolutions that might not make room for it.
