Erin's December Favourites

L'Oréal True Match Lumi Foundation has been an absolute lifesaver this month.  My skin has been all over the place - spotty, flaky, uneven - you name it. The water-based formula provides enough moisture so that I don't see dry spots halfway through the day, and enough coverage to conceal any problem areas. It's necessary to set this foundation under the eyes and in the T zone.

Tarte Blush in Overexposed is neutral-toned pinky-brown blush that gives just enough colour to the cheeks to balance bright or dark lips. It may be tempting to skip blush when wearing a red lip - there's enough colour already, you might argue - but wearing blush softens the contrast between your features.

A true favourite is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder Brush, which I like using to apply pressed powder such as the Japonesque Powder that I mentioned in my November favourites post. Super soft, it evenly and lightly sweeps powder onto the face.

This small sample of the Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes Pencil has wowed me. I was slightly put-off by the itty-bitty size, making it awkward to hold. I'm glad I tried because this pencil LASTS - even in the upper waterline. It doesn't transfer onto the lower waterline, and I have never been able to say that about a pencil before. I think I'll give up on the awkwardly tiny sample and purchase the real deal.

I love the original Eight Hour cream, but this iteration, called the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm, is a fabulous overnight lip treatment that soothes, hydrates and repairs my lips. Key ingredients include an intense emollient mix (petrolatum, shea butter and more), menthol, and vitamins A & E. This lip balm is more dense and much less glossy than the original Eight Hour Cream.
