J'Adore Dior | Magical Rose Diamond Highlighting Powder

Hi! Katherine here!
Whenever I’m thinking about buying a high-end beauty product I’m always a little wary. If I’m spending the big bucks I want to make sure that the product is worth the hype! That’s what we want to do for you with this blog, by reviewing not only high-end products but drugstore as well. Erin and I are beauty addicts; it’s true we are a little obsessed. We are going to share our honest opinions of the products we buy and let you know if they work and are worth the money.

For our first post I’m going to share my high-end brand obsession: Christian Dior. There is no counter that I am drawn to more than Dior. Everything about the brand screams luxury and elegance. One of the products I was most curious to try was the highlighter
Diorskin Shimmer Star powder in the colour 001 Rose Diamond.
I frequently watch Tanya Burr’s Youtube videos and she always talks about Dior Amber Diamond highlighter. Unlike Tanya, I’m a redhead with fair skin, so I thought that Amber Diamond would be too dark for me. I’m so glad that I chose Rose Diamond instead because it’s a wonderful product.

The packaging is amazing: sleek and with a large mirror that let’s you see your entire face.

The highlighter itself gives your cheeks the most beautiful and natural glow. It wakes up your face and makes you look healthy. The pigmentation is great, too - one sweep of the brush is all I use for both cheeks. I’ve been using this product everyday for the past month when I wear makeup and haven’t made a dent, so I think it will last me a really long time. I also use the lighter colours in the pan to highlight my brow bone and cupid’s bow. I like that the colours are all separate because it allows you to customize the highlighter to your mood: if you want it to be lighter one day and more pink the next.

Would you recommend this product?
YES! Rose Diamond is great and performs really well. It doesn’t leave the skin sparkly or like a disco ball. It has just the right amount of colour and shimmer to compliment pale skin tones. It is a Dior product so it is expensive. Still, you can sometimes get it at Shoppers Drug Mart for 20% off, making it $36, or regularly $45 at the Bay, Sephora and Dior counters.

Have you tried Amber or Rose Diamond? What other Dior products would you recommend?
